Medical Imaging

All Recruiting Services place medical imaging staff in Locum and Permanent positions throughout Australia and New Zealand. We cover all medical Imaging Modalities: CT, MRI, Mammography, General Radiography, Cath Lab, Ultrasound, MSK, Vascular, Cardiac and also Nuclear Medicine. We have private and public hospitals and clinics to choose from.

To work in Australia as a Radiographer or Sonographer you will need to have your qualifications recognised by the appropriate authority if your qualifications where gained outside Australia.

You MUST gain accreditation and registration from one of the appropriate regulating authorities listed below:

Radiographers, Sonographers & Radiation Therapists: Australian Institute of Radiography (AIR) www.air.asn.au will assess your overseas gained qualifications. This process can take time, approx 16 weeks; for New Zealand candidates there is a process called Trans Tasman Mutual Recognition.

Sonographers will then need to be passed from the AIR to the Australasian Sonographer Accreditation Register (ASAR) www.asar.com.au  for registration.  

HOWEVER if you wish to work in Queensland or Western Australia as a Radiographer or Radiation Therapist you may apply directly to the registration and licensing boards.

You will need a radiation license in all states in Australia.

Medical imaging is listed on the Australian Job Shortage list and therefore employers are able to offer sponsored visas (Subclass 457) for those that don’t qualify for a WHV (Working Holiday Visa)

An IELTS score of 7 and 7.5 is required for all AIR applications outside the UK / Ireland / USA / Canada. The IELTS must be completed prior to application the AIR.

ALL CANDIDATES need a minium of 2 years post graduate experience UNLESS they attended one of the UK universities the AIR is affiliated with. Please visit the AIR website for a current list of affiliated Universities.
