Occupational Therapists
At present, occupational therapists must be registered to practice in
Queensland,
South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
Registration is through each states registration board www.cotrb.com.au/otherboards.htm . If you hold overseas qualifications, you will need to apply to the COTRB to have
your qualifications assessed and accredited for you become eligible for limited/conditional
registration.
Registration is not required in Tasmania, New South Wales,
Victoria or the Australian Capital Territory.
If on a Working Holiday Visa, only need to complete Stage 1 – Desk Top Audit by the Council of
Occupational Therapists Registration Boards (COTRB). On successful completion, they will issue a letter stating
your eligibility to work, allowing you to apply for Registration in the appropriate States/Territory.
